Wow, this really got me thinking. I try to always be kind and Freindly to people I come across in all kinds of situations, but this post got thinking about the impact we can make by stepping it up even just a little more. It is easy to forget the needs of others and how good you can make them feel about themselves with just a simple act.
I try to hold the door for people, but maybe just an extra second or two out of my day to wish them well and give them a smile also. My wife Susan is great at trying to find something to compliment people about, like telling the cashier they have a pretty shirt (this one is not that good for a man without sounding creepy),or thanks for the great service etc.. I am going to try to step it up and put in the little extra effort. Besides it will probably make me feel good if I get a smile back!
A little off topic, but still making people feel welcome and accepted will help us all feel connected.

I am grateful for a small group that is committed to growing closer together and being real with each other.

My next step with God is in the area of prayer. I need to take time to talk to him in ways that are deeper and more focused. I often shoot up a quick prayer, I talk about business, but I don't sit down enough and talk to him thoughtfully and meditatively.
