I don't have the biblical answer but the way I view it is that taxes, insurance payments, etc., (the things that come off the top of our paychecks) are just other forms of "bills" that we all pay. So, if I'm going to tithe based on net income I might as well also deduct the house payment, car payment, light bill, etc. Accordingly, I believe I'm supposed to give 10% of my gross income.

This weekend service was great. How do you tithe when your partner is either not a believer or against giving ‘so much’ to the church? I want to give more, but my husband does not understand.

I was encouraged on Saturday night to hear what the church has accomplished. I am glad to be part of a church that looks to the needs of others and thinks how to be a support.
